SET YOUR SIGHTS ON AUSTRALIA WITH RIATA FOR THE SOUTH PACIFIC’S GRAND SLAM.
Our exotic gold medal deer include fallow and red stag, axis and rusa deer, sambar and hog deer. We also specialize in big water buffalo and banteng bulls in Australia’s Northern Territory. Over 6 million acres is ours to hunt exclusively!
ABOUT OUR OUTFITTER
This is a family owned business based in Oatlands, Tasmania with more than 20 years experience in the guiding business.
Both Greg and his wife Lesley have hunted the South Pacific and many other parts of the world for big game, and know what’s required from a guide and outfitter to make your hunt a success. Providing first class outdoor packages, combined with Greg’s “down to earth” approach, you’re guaranteed a first class hunt.
Offering a wealth of experience, Greg’s vast knowledge of the Australian outback and wildlife, including its big game species, are second to none.
Unlike many outfitters, Greg’s operation is a full-time business and as such, they are constantly in contact and scouting year round for the best areas for big buffalo and rusa deer.
Our buffalo camp is home to some of the biggest bulls the Northern Territory has to offer, and our many rusa areas constantly produce record book trophies.
BUFFALO HUNTS
The unique thing about our concession that sets us apart from other outfitters is it’s size, consisting of more than 6 million acres in the northern territory of remote unspoiled frontier with one road running through it: ours! In fact, one flood plain alone is estimated to consist of more than 100,000 acres of pure, open wilderness. Situated in Northeast Arnhem Land and bordering the sea, it offers arguably the best buffalo hunting in the northern territory of Australia, while also offering great fishing.
Seasons: Our season begins around mid May through to the end of September. A typical hunt runs for 5 days (six nights).
A typical hunt presents two or three opportunities per day to bag a trophy bull and sometimes, trophy boars are also encountered. Plus, plenty of photographic opportunities. It is not uncommon to see hundreds of buffalo grazing out on the flood plains while in search of a trophy bull. Early season hunts can be cool at night, while late season hunts are usually warm to hot.
Our Hunts Include:
While overseas, hunters are encouraged to bring their own firearms, we can supply licensed firearms and ammunition if required.
How to get there: after arriving at Darwin International Airport, a short domestic flight to Elcho Island, situated off the mainland coast, then a ten minute flight by private plane will land you virtually at the campsite.
