Red Stag Hunt- This includes all 5 star accommodations
and 2 Red Stags per hunter! Plus all transportation to the lodge and a touring program for nonhunters. Getting here: Fly to Inverness Airport.
The size of the hunting area is 30,000 acres which is a mixture of forestry and farmland,
and is based in the very small down of Kelso, Scotland which is about 40 miles south of
Edinburgh. As this is a dawn and dusk hunt there
is plenty of time to go sight-seeing during the day. Most clients who do this hunt take our tour guide, who is a professional guide, and takes them to local places of interest and whisky tastings. He will also pick the clients up at the airport and return them at the end of their stay.
Clients pay him direct at $380.00 per day plus fuel for the touring vehicle.
There is bird hunting in September for partridges,
and pheasants starting Nov 1.
DETAILS:
Red Hill Stag hunting takes place in September and finishes in early October and is a 7
night stay/5 day hunt, arriving on a Sunday and departing the following Sunday.
It takes place on a FREE RANGE hunting estate of approximately
30,000 acres, and expectation are for 8 points and above in total.
Included in the price – plenty of brown trout and salmon on the estate in the river and
lakes, with some rivers flyfishing only. Also included is field preparation of the antler
trophies, which is boiling the heads to museum standard as required by the U.S. Fish &
Wildlife Dept., and packing so they can be taken back on the plane as baggage.
Not included in the above price – if the hunters require the capes of their trophies there is an extra charge by the hunting estate of $100.00 per cape Also not included in the hunt price is hard liquor, tips and gratuities to the staff and international and internal flights, and any entrance fees to historic buildings during the tours.
Sika stag may be available as an extra charge of $1,800.00 per animal
if the client is staying at the hunting lodge and it is taken during their Scottish hill stag
hunt.
Roe Bucks $2,000.
A limited number of special HIGH SCORING trophy red stags may be available. These
animals are in a large high fenced area of between 1,000 and 2,000 acres in size and will
be in the region of 12 – 14 points. Prices start at $3,800.00 per stag. All prices include the 20% government tax.

Hunting clients wishing to bring their own rifles will need a “Visitors’ Firearm Permit”
issued by our police. We can arrange this for them at a cost of $80.00 per permit and will send information about the paperwork we need if required.
Clients not wishing to apply are welcome to borrow one of the lodge rifles, there is no
charge but we ask for a fee of $30.00 to cover the ammunition.
On no account should clients bring ammunition over without a license.
This hunt requires a reasonable level of fitness, and all prices are in U.S. dollars. It is now
mandatory in Britain for all hunters to carry Limited Liability insurance for $10 million, and the easiest way to provide this is for us to enroll hunters into one of our hunting organizations at a cost of $100.00 per year. The insurance is part of the membership
package and makes you legal to hunt in the U.K. and the hunter can reimburse us at the
end of the hunt. Non-hunting companions have a full sight-seeing program arranged for them every day. A professional tour guide and touring vehicle will take them to places of interest which include historical castles, a 12th century cathedral, stately homes, Fort William, Beauly Priory, the amazing Cawdor Castle and of course Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle, and shopping for antiques and cashmere, and on the Saturday morning a whisky distillery. The tours will leave the Lodge after breakfast and have a full day touring, returning late afternoon. When the hunters have taken their 2 stags they are welcome to join the tours or go fishing. We have about 4 miles of the River Spey and several lochs/lakes full of Brown Trout.
Spinning rods are available at the Lodge, but if you are a fly fisherman it is probably
better to bring your own. There are salmon in the river but they are usually later in the
season, and are catch and release. All the fishing can be done from the banks.

TRAVEL AND TRANSPORTATION:
Hunters must fly into Narsarsuaq, Greenland.
Most clients will connect via Reykjavik, Iceland; however, flights to Greenland are also
available via Copenhagen, Denmark. Clients will travel directly to camp by high-speed
rescue boat or helicopter upon arriving in Greenland.
Expect approximately five hours of sailing if by boat or a 30 minute helicopter ride to
reach camp. At the conclusion of the hunt, clients may boat from camp directly back to
Narsarsuaq for their departing flights or by Heli. With this schedule, no expensive hotels in Greenland will be required. A hotel overnight in Reykjavik could be expected.

All hunting is conducted by spot and stalk methods.
We have 4 wheelers, snow mobiles & boats. Clients will eat a warm breakfast each
morning before departing camp by 4 wheeler or boat. Sailing the shorelines or 4 wheelers in search of muskox is the primary method to locate game. Upon spotting quality trophies, clients will be taken to shore and will stalk their game on a guided basis with their guide.
Musk oxen are most often found close to the water and only minimal physical effort is
needed. Depending on the season, CARIBOU OR REINDEER may or may not require
climbing/hiking for success. Clients hunting caribou or reindeer in
August should expect to climb 1,000 or more vertical feet and cover several miles at a
minimum to reach productive caribou country, and should be in good physical condition. Caribou or reindeer hunting in September or October is physically easier as the animals are often found closer to the coast and less physical effort is required to hunt them. Caribou or reindeer hunts are typically guided on a 2×1 ratio.
Most hunts will utilize a nice heated remote cabin lodge for the duration of the trip. Cabins are very basic and use a generator. Heated.
Outfitter provides sleeping bags. Most cabins have two to three bedrooms with wooden
bunk-style beds. Warm and plentiful meals, often for your experience can include muskox, caribou or fish and other meats from the region are prepared by an Inuit cook and served for breakfast and dinner at camp; packed lunches are taken during the day.
GREENLAND HUNTING OVERVIEW The muskox hunting in Greenland is nothing
short of fantastic and the trophy quality is absolutely incredible. The population and
annual harvest are carefully managed and the numbers are continually rising. Clients can expect to see many musk oxen each day and should not expect to shoot the first mature bull they see. With many trophies scoring between 105 and 115 inches Boone and Crockett trophies! Caribou and Reindeer trophy quality is very good. Mature, trophy bulls are available for those who are patient and/or physically able to climb and hike. Caribou / Reindeer are typically fully grown by early August and velvet free by early September.
You can do a velvet hunt or a hard horn hunt. This operator specializes in archery & rifle
hunts both. Archery shot distances will average 20– 30 yards. 500-grain or heavier arrows with fixed-blade broadheads (required) are recommended, as arrow penetration on heavy haired 800-pound muskox can be difficult.
The minimum rifle caliber is .30
and rifle distances on musk oxen average 50–150 yards.

SPECIES AVAILABLE Musk ox (Greenland variety) and central barren-ground caribou/
reindeer are the primary species available. Arctic char are extremely abundant in
freshwater rivers and streams and lingcod, black halibut, flounder, etc. are frequently
caught in the saltwater fjords. If time and weather permit and the animals are in season,
hunting for arctic HARE, PTARMIGAN, and arctic FOX may be added at additional cost.
