One of the reasons why Costa Rica sport fishing is so great is because of the country’s proximity to the fertile blue water that offers a plethora of fantastic and a variety of species.  

Catch fish like sailfish, snook, red snapper, amberjack, roosterfish, yellowfin tuna, wahoo, dorado, grouper, and rainbow runner all day long as you soak in the sun and relax on a private fishing boat.

But perhaps the best catch of all during your Costa Rica vacation will be the mighty marlin!  Known to frequent the waters of Costa Rica, marlin weigh up to 1000 or more pounds! These giant fish provide a truly unforgettable fishing experience, as there’s nothing quite like battling a marlin as you reel it in. The best time to catch marlin is from December through April, but they can be caught at any time of the year.

Chances are you’ll have a great shot at catching a marlin anytime you head out of the bay, but if not, the sailfish is also a worthy adversary and very common here. While not as feisty as the marlin, the sailfish provide quite a spectacle as they soar through the air, shimmering and reflecting in the light as the sun catches the large sails upon their backs from which they get their name. Prime sailfish season is from December to March, with the prime time to fish for them being in February, but they can be caught year round here.

THE BOATS

All of our boats are at the marina are very nice, modern, diesel engine boats and include bilingual experienced captains, top of the line equipment including Penn and Shimano fishing gear, bait and tackle, lunch and cold beverages, and complete safety equipment. You will have to buy a Costa Rica fishing license if you don’t have one, but the process is not difficult. You can buy one at the marina for $25 and it will be valid for 1 year. Our boats have ice makers, water makers, ice chests, live bait wells, restrooms, fish boxes, stereos, bunk beds, tables, refrigerators, microwaves, shaded fishing areas and live video of you fighting your fish!

Guest Services: Our office partners in Costa Rica are located next to the entrance to the resort and are available 24/7 to help you during your stay.

Transportation: We offer ground and air transportation to all the destinations in Costa Rica. All vehicles: Private Vans, Coasters, Buses, Limousines or Helicopters, Airplanes; are operated by professionals and have all permits and insurance. There are taxis and Vans available 24/7 at your disposal.

Car Rentals: We work with the most reliable rental car companies in Costa Rica. The cars are renewed every 12-18 months and there are offices throughout the country to assist you in case of a mechanical problem. You can choose to pick up the car at the airport or have the vehicle delivered at the door of your accommodation.

Spa services: When you need to relax there are alternatives. One is to stay in the comfort of your accommodation and have a private masseuse give you a private treatment. The other is to go to the state of the art spa on the grounds and enjoy and a full day of treatments.

Dining out: This area offers a wide variety of culinary alternatives. From casual restaurants with local gastronomy on the beach to fine dining at the resort with extravagant Molecular Cuisine menus. There are also Restaurants in the area that offer Sea Food, Steaks, Sushi, Italian, Asian, Lebanese, African, and more. If you go out fishing you can take your catch and have it prepared by one of the restaurants right here on the grounds. 

Catering: If you want to enjoy a gourmet meal and don’t feel like going out we can arrange a Chef to cook for your group. There several chefs in the area; however more and more of our guests choose to have this service so it is a good idea to arrange this service in advance.

Special request shopping: Don’t waste your time shopping, we will do it for you. Send us an itemized list of your groceries and special requests and we will stock your accommodations prior to your arrival.

Babysitting:  If you want to go out at night, do an activity for adults or simply have some time without the kids we offer baby sitters that can look after your kids. There also is a Kids club where the children can play and do activities with the supervision of adults.

Weather: Costa Rica has mainly 2 seasons: the dry and the rainy season. The dry season is from December – May and the rainy season from June – November.

However, during rainy months it may only rain late in the afternoon so visitors still enjoy sunny days on the beach and outdoor activities during the daytime. Puntarenas is the closest city we could find on the weather channel. 

Generally classified as a tropical country because of its close proximity to the equator, Costa Rica has no real winter period, and the sun shines here throughout the year. With over 12 hours of sunshine a day, the sun rises at about 5 am and sets at about 6 pm consistently throughout the year.

The Central Pacific enjoys the best climate in the country as the weather here has an average of 70-81 degrees Fahrenheit, and is tempered with a cool coastal breeze.

FAQ’S

How many people can stay in the condominiums?

The 1 bedroom condominiums are for a maximum of 2 people, the 2 bedrooms are for 4 people and the 3 bedrooms for 6 people maximum. 

How do I get from the airport?

We can arrange for either ground transportation (a private luxury van), air transportation by helicopter or car rentals. The airport is 1:20 from the resort.

 How far is the nearest town?

The area that surrounds the resort is a simple beachside community. Jaco and beach are 10 minutes away and one of Costa Rica’s largest beach communities. There are over 40 restaurants, bars, banks, large super markets and shopping all around us.

Can I use the Hotel facilities when I am staying in adjacent homes or condominiums?

The Hotel facilities such as the restaurants, bars, casino, golf course (rental clubs available), spa services, gift shop, and room service are all available. The new  Beach Club and oversized pool are exclusive to our guests and the hotel pool is reserved for hotel guests only.

 What do I need to bring?

A valid passport (US Citizens do not require a Visa) and current drivers license (if driving). Major credit cards (Visa is best) are accepted nearly everywhere. Colones (Costa Rica currency) can be exchanged at the current rate and US Dollars are accepted everywhere as well. A big hat, sun block, comfortable shoes, sunglasses, and a camera are a good idea. There are no vaccinations or medical concerns and the water is safe to drink inside the resort.
